Create & Design a Modern 3D House in Blender 2.80
Do you want to learn how to create stunning photorealistic 3D architectural renders in Blender? Do you want to be able to digitally recreate your own house in Blender? By the end of this course you will have made a beautiful 3D modern house. The first section of this course will be focused on modeling our modern house. Over the next couple sections we will be adding materials, textures, modelings and lighting to our scene. I will then show you how to render your image and post process it. And because I am nice I will show you how to edit your image in Photoshop as well!
Learning Blender can be very hard when you first start that’s why I built this course for all levels beginner to advanced. I will be showing you step by step on what to do and why we do it. From the basics of modeling to advanced techniques like creating grass with particle systems.
I have also included 3 bonus sections in this course. The first one is creating a realistic tree in Blender. We will go through how to create an organic looking tree, apply textures and use particle systems to create the branches.
The second bonus I will show you how to create a modern couch in Blender. First thing we will do is model and sculpt it. This will add some creases to make it more realistic. Then, of course, the materials and rendering.
The last section of the course we will jump into the real time render engine Eevee and learn how to render our scene. Eevee is a real time render engine in Blender 2.80 and you will learn how it works, how to set up the render and make the materials look good.
I will be giving away 13 professionally made models and 5 high resolution textures. You are free to use these models for other scenes but you are not allowed to sell or upload them. By enrolling in this course you agree those conditions.
What you’ll learn
Create their own architectural renders using Blender
Texture and make realistic materials for their own scenes.
Work comfortably in Blender
Are there any class requirements or prerequisites?
Students need to have Blender installed on their computer.
It is recommended that you have a computer mouse.
Prior knowledge about Blender will be useful but not required.
Who this course is for:
Anyone who wants to learn about Blender, 3d, architectural rendering, or photorealism.
We will be using the following programs in this course.
Programs Used in this Class:
I hope you are excited to jump into this course! And I can’t wait to see your amazing renders!
Introduction and Starting Your Scene
This is the introduction to the Create and Design a Modern 3D House in Blender 2.80 course and what you will learn by enrolling!
In this video I will be showing you how to download the latest version of Blender.
In this video I show you the very basics on how to use Blender. Moving around the 3D space, moving, scaling and rotating objects.
Saving your file is very important especially when you are working with very complex models or scenes. In this video I show you how to save your file.
In this quiz you will be asked 5 different questions on what you learned in the first section.
In this video we jump into Blender and start modeling the first floor of our modern house!
The first floor is done and now we move onto the second floor!
In this video we will be creating the side wall of our house!
The base model of the house is done and now we can create the ground and start adding detail!
To add even more detail we will be creating a wall in the back to hold some trees up.
In this video we create the pool. To do this we will be adding a plane and using a displacement modifier to make it look like water!
In the real world there are no completely sharp angles so that is why we will be adding bevel to everything in our scene in Blender!
In this quiz you will be asked a couple of questions about modeling in Blender.
This lecture is for anyone who wants to download the textures used in this course.
Now we get into the materials. In this video I show you how to make a materials with all the different textures that you need! We will be using a regular texture, a normal map and a specular map.
In this video we continue creating the materials for the second floor of our house.
The materials are almost done. In this last video of this section we will be creating the materials for the wall in the back, the concrete and the water material for the pool!
In this quiz you will be asked all about materials
In this article you will find the link to the website where you can get the HDR!
Now we get into the lighting! Here we add in an HDR to the scene.
In this video we create the pools lights in Blender.
In this video we add the lights inside the house so we can actually see the models and furniture.
The exterior lights really help to highlight the house that is why in this video we get to create some fancy lights.
In this quiz you will be asked all about lighting.
Adding in the Models
Now we get to fill in our scene using the models that you can download on this video. I will be showing you how to import them into your scene and where to put them.
We continue adding in the models to our second floor and making the house looked lived in!
And finally we add in the plants and trees to the scene to really help make it look good.
Creating the Grass (Particle Systems)
We are moving onto the grass! In this video we learn about vertex groups and why they are important when creating particle systems.
In this video we actually start getting into the particle system. I show you step by step on what to do and what settings need to be changed.
Now comes the grass material. In this video we jump into the node editor and learn about creating grass strands.
Rendering, Compositing and Final Tweaks
In this video we add in the last of the models to the scene and do a little bit of tweaking to the lighting.
To add more detail to the house we will be creating stairs on the right side.
In this video we used Blenders cloth simulation to get realistic looking blinds.
We are almost done with the course! We just need to do some render and camera settings.
The render is finished and now we get to composite the image! In this video we jump over to the compositer and really make the render stand out!
In this video we check out the new blender 2.81 denoise feature. This denoiser is much better then the one we used in the course and in this lecture I show you how to use it.
If you want to learn about color grading in Photoshop this is the video for you! We take the raw render and post process it in Photoshop! If you don't have Photoshop but still want to follow along use Gimp!
In this quiz you will be asked about compositing in Blender.
Bonus - Creating a Realistic Tree in Blender
This article is for the links to the textures that we use in this section!
In this video we start creating the tree and using a sapling addon it will make it much easier.
In this video we will be adding the materials to our tree. We will go through how to add in the leaf texture and make it look realistic.
In this video you will learn how to export your tree and put it into a new blender file!
This is just a bonus video of myself speed modeling the tree in Blender.
Bonus - Creating a Modern Couch in Blender
In this video we will be modeling and sculpting the couch in Blender!
In this video we will be creating the base of the couch in Blender!
In this video we create the materials for the couch and learn how to export it to different scenes.
Rendering Modern House in Eevee Blender 2.80
In this video we will be jumping into the real time render engine Eevee. We will be taking our scene that we created in this course and learning how to render it properly in Eevee!
In this video we will be fixing the materials and getting the glass in Eevee to work properly in Blender!
In this video we do some final tweaks to our scene and getting it ready to render in Eevee!
We finished the render so now it's time to do some post processing to make our image really pop.
